‘He definitely made that rule’: Lauren Sanchez reveals morning ritual with Jeff Bezos
Mornings are sacred even for one of the world’s richest men.
Jeff Bezos’ fiancée gave a glimpse of what daily life is like with the billionaire and revealed he has one steadfast ritual.
Lauren Sanchez tells People the 60-year-old Amazon founder doesn’t immediately check his phone upon waking up.
“I make myself a cup of coffee,” the former reporter told the outlet. “I make Jeff a cup of coffee, and we kind of have this magic moment where it’s just us talking.”

The 54-year-old Emmy winner deals, but admits the occasional temptation to take a peek at her device.
“He definitely made that rule,” Sanchez says of the tech king she began dating in 2019. “It wasn’t me. But the mornings are just us for as long as we can.”
The A.M. chit-chat doesn’t last long; these are busy people. The famous couple split their time between Miami’s Indian Creek Village and Los Angeles, where Sanchez coparents two kids — Evan, 18, and Ella, 16 — with ex Patrick Whitesell. Sanchez also has a 23-year-old son Nikko with first husband, retired NFL player Tony Gonzalez.

Mom’s day doesn’t start with chaotic drop-off lines anymore, though. The teens are old enough to drive themselves. (The ages of Bezos’ four children with MacKenzie Scott are not widely known, but their oldest, Preston, was born in 2000.)
“I loved taking them to school. I don’t know if they loved it,” Sanchez says. “They were probably way more excited about getting their licenses than I was. But they used to open up to me in the car. It was magic.
“If you can still drive them to parties when they’re older, definitely do it!”
